D'essence of New Orleans
There's something new on the menu in Chester. Michelle Edwards always dreamed of opening a New Orleans style restaurant in Chester where she now lives. But her idea remained dormant until hurricane Katrina hit. It was then, after being displaced from her home, that her dream become a reality. The luncheonette is called D'essence of New Orleans and is staffed by in-laws and nieces and nephews and other members of Davis' extended family flooded out by Katrina. Serving New Orleans’ specialties like crawfish pasta, fried shrimp po'boys, chicken jambalaya and fried catfish, this exciting new eatery is destined to become a Chester Landmark.
